Ippos is the Greek name for horse. Inspiration for this design came from the Trojan horse.
The Trojan Horse is a tale from the Trojan war, about the subterfuge that the Greeks used to enter the city of Troy and win the war. In the original version, after a fruitless 10-year siege, the Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse, and hid a select force of men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night. The Greeks entered and destroyed the city of Troy, decisively ending the war.
Ippos earrings have been designed with a hollow part in the position of their bellies, resembling the place of refuge of the Greeks inside the trojan horse.
The Ippos earrings in gold have been constructed by gold and black laser cut plexiglass, combined in layers.
Materials: Plexiglass, silver plated brass studs. The earrings come with a stud so if you need them clip on, please request!
Please take care of your plexiglass earrings by keeping it away from water and perfume. Each Nefelia jewel comes packed in beautiful logo box.
